The Vietnam Festival of International Cinema and Television of Sports closed at the Opera House in Hanoi on June 8.
Host Vietnam has its Ho chi minh city Television bag the first prize of the journey category for its “Road upwards to Everest Mount.” Iran won the first prize for “Football, a Place with No Judge” of the documentary category and the second prize for “Smart and Outsmart” of the animation category which has no first prize.
In regard to the scientific and educational category, the second and also highest prize went to Romanian Action Television Production for “The Team Echipia.” The commercial movie, commentary, game show, talk show and TV show category had no first prize, either, and the second prize was awarded to “Krishoker Eid Anando” by Bangladesh Impress Telefilm Ltd.
China Film Promotion International won feature film first prize for “Mai Mai ti’s 2008.”
The festival attracted over 60 entries from six foreign countries, namely China , Singapore , Bangladesh , Iran , Rumania and Australia , in addition to 13 film companies and television stations of host Vietnam The festival
The entries reflect unique aspects of sporting life with some very touching programmes about disabled sportspersons who have trained themselves to set new records.
Prize winning works will join the 26th Festival of International Cinema and Television of Sports scheduled to be held in Milan, Italy from October 31 to November 5.
